Affogato dessert (Slimming World friendly)

I rarely eat desserts but if in an Italian restaurant I can't resist an Affogato. The name in Italian means 'drowned' and it's simply a scoop of ice cream with a shot of hot espresso coffee poured over it, the contrast between the hot coffee and the cold creamy ice cream is delicious and couldn't be easier to make.

I recently discovered the Halo Top range of ice creams and thought this could make a delicious low syn dessert which feels like a real treat. Traditionally the ice cream used is vanilla but I used the cinnamon roll flavour here but you can use whatever flavour you like just check the syns as they do vary slightly. 100ml is about two scoops but measure it to be sure.

Although it is supposed to be a shot of espresso you can make just a small amount of any hot strong coffee to use but you only need a very small amount about 50ml. I use espresso instant powder to make it to be honest.

Affogato

100ml Halo top ice cream (cinnamon roll flavour used here)
1 shot of hot espresso coffee (50ml)

Simply measure the ice cream into a bowl or large coffee cup and pour over the coffee and serve immediately.

Serves 1 and is 4 syns
