Corned beef pasty (Slimming World friendly)

I know this sounds too good to be true but it isn't ! It wasn't my idea but have seen it done all over the internet so thought would give it a try.

Pastry is so high in syns and this is a tasty alternative.  At the time of writing Weightwatchers white and wholemeal wraps are both ok to use as a healthy extra or they are 6 syns each so by using these instead of pastry you can make a delicious low syn pasty.

I used Princes lean corned beef which is 1.5 syns per 100g and this recipe used a 200g tin so if you use the wrap as your healthy extra each pasty is just less than one syn each.

I'm going to try making them with some different fillings like stewed steak or cheese and onion. The possibilities are endless!!

Corned beef pasty

3 large potatoes (peeled, boiled and mashed)
200g tin of princes lean corned beef
1 small onion (diced)
4 weightwatchers wraps
1 beaten egg
low calorie spray oil
salt and pepper

Spray a small frying pan with the spray oil and gently fry the onion until soft but not brown then set aside.

Cut the corned beef into small cubes and place in a shallow bowl, Add the cooked onion and mashed potato with a little salt and pepper mix together very well then divide into four portions.

Take the wrap and brush all around the edges with the beaten egg then put one portion of the corned beef mixture just on one side of the wrap.

Fold the wrap over and using a fork press down the edges very well and brush the whole pasty with beaten egg.

Line a flat baking tray with baking paper or greaseproof and place the pasty on it. Repeat with the other wraps (Can probably only fit two on each tray as they are quite big).

Bake in the oven at Gas 7/ 220/425 for 15-20 minutes until browned and golden.

1 syn per pasty if using the wrap as your healthy extra.
