Doner-ish kebab (Slimming World friendly)
I know that traditionally lamb mince is used for doner kebabs but lamb mince at 5% fat or lower is almost impossible to find so I make this with lean beef mince. You get all the lovely flavours of a doner kebab but with beef mince and I really don't think it makes that much difference.
It's really easy to make just throw it all in a bowl , add the spices and seasoning and bake, I sometimes make up large batches of the spice mix then just use a couple of spoonfuls of that which makes it even quicker. I served it with salad in a wholemeal pitta bread.
Doner-ish kebab
500g lean beef mince 5% fat or less
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
low calorie spray oil
Place the mince in a bowl and add all the other ingredients, Mix everything together really well with your hands is the best way , The mixture needs to be thoroughly mixed to ensure sure the spices are throughout the meat.
Spray a loaf tin with the spray oil and place the mixture in it and press down, If you don't have a loaf tin just shape it into a loaf shape and bake on a baking tray.
Pre heat oven to gas 6/200/400 and bake for 30-40 minutes until brown, Take out of the oven and rest the kebab for ten minutes covered in foil.
Slice thinly and serve with salad in a wholemeal pitta bread.
